His body was burned.
Hitler left instructions that his body be burned after his suicide. He did not want to see his body mutilated, such as Mussolini’s had been. Mussolini had been the fascist leader of Italy and an ally of Hitler’s. Hitler’s underlings followed his instructions and burned his body just outside the entrance to the bunker where he spent his last weeks.
But the body was apparently not completely destroyed. Russians have remains of Hitler’s body, including his jaw, on display in a museum today.
